Mandy Flame This album by Melodramus hits the sweet spot for me - progressive, with a metal edge but not too metal. I love how they blend in clean jazz-fusion melody over the underlying distortion. Then Zakk comes in with a very bluesy guitar tone and lays a riff perfectly into the space left for him. Not hard to see the influence of King Crimson, in a very good way.

Reaping 06:59
As black as pitch as dead as Dreams your innocence To take the only breath that’s left and make it scream Of your wasted light and blind foresight Over the line were compromised You hurl yourself over the edge Where’s your mind? Domestication... isn’t it making you dumb? To reap your one and only start To rip your family apart To wage a war... on your mind Domestication... isn’t it dumbing you down? Feed the buck to the wolf Feed the buck to the wolf To the wolf

We Can See 04:52
We Can See beauty where there’s so much ugliness... Maybe I’m too blind to see the light you’re shining home Maybe I’m too cold to feel the warmth you’re givin’ to your dead religion In a place we all call home you feed it fear Shame on a good thing comin’ We Can See beauty where there’s so much ugliness This is the last time that we turn and run away from lovin’ our mistakes Maybe I maybe I maybe I... Holy hands and feeble minds preach Psycho surgery Make it right and put an end to the ancient slave of love and livin’ In a place we all call home you feed it fear Shame on a good thing comin’ We Can See beauty where there’s so much ugliness This is the last time that we turn and run away from lovin’ our mistakes

Songs in my head tell me best where to go in this life Dance with the moonrise and drift away I'm telling you, you'll take a little...you'll learn a lot...feel even more I feel angels kiss my skin Demons rest within Can't hurt me I feel angels kiss my skin Demons rest within Can't hurt me God he once said, "Be weary of strangers, they keep getting stranger" Dance with the sunrise and drift away I'm tellin' you, you'll take a little...you'll learn a lot...feel even more I feel angels kiss my skin Demons rest within Can't hurt me I feel angels kiss my skin Demons rest within Can't hurt me

Celebrate your mother Lock her in the cupboard Celebrate Durin’s Day We will pray together We wanna-be-wanna-be-wanna-be rid of it now... right now Hey, what you doin’ over there? With that wind in your hair You hide the eyes behind the mind Oh! When you whisper will it fall on deaf ears? With all access to queers who hide the Son behind the shine... and they say “Celebrate your Durin’s Day... we will prey together” Together forever Together forever Together forever Aaahhh! Celebrate your mother Lock her in the cupboard Celebrate Durin’s Day We will pray together

... and so it starts Never take me too far Never mind the winter’s stare my dear The fire is eating at our darkest vices And this is how it ends... mother... Father wasn’t here Hasn’t been around for better care Still I’m holding onto fading years With time to rest in... Fire Burning in Still thinking Of losing you Standing on your hill with all this lack Pick up your heart and run You’re just another thinker Just another victim of... The selfless one in space Not to toil in his wicked ways As surrendered in death and life And you can’t shut it off And why would you want to? Father work through me Heal this land and set it free Share your whisper with a heart alive With time to rest in... Fire Burning in Still thinking Of losing you I don’t know stories told but I’m still dreaming of losing you Standing on your hill with all this lack Pick up your heart and run You’re just another thinker Just another victim of... Haw-y-ya Uh-na Ni-na-na Nah-nah-uh-uh New-oo-oo-oo Haw-y-ya Uh-na Ni-na-na Nah-nah-ah-ah New-oo-oo-oo Oh Haw-yi Yaw-yaw-yaw Nah-ni-nah-nah Ni-nah Nah-ah-ah Ooh Yeah... yeah... yeah Oh!

We bring intention in the silent language We bring intention with imagination We bring intention in the silent language We bring intention with our dreams and beliefs... Fire Burning in Still thinking Of losing you I don’t know stories told But I’m... Still dreaming of losing you Standing on your hill with all this lack Pick up your heart and run You’re just another thinker Just another victim of... love Never take me too far Never mind the winter’s stare my dear The fire is eating at our darkest vices This is how is ends... mother... Father work through me Heal this land and set it free Share your whisper with a heart alive With time... In the fire... It burns my skin... But I’m still... I’m still thinking...

Smile 07:52
Even when you close your beautiful eye You feel compromise for your cover up that all Love is gone now Blame it on your change in the weather Never be together forever when all love is gone now... She wants Love To cover up Blame it on another one You take the lie A twisted lie You fold like a foil In yeah You suck the love out of my anger with your SMILE Use it on another fool... Here they come to change their minds Any given time be it day or night ‘cause all love is gone now Here we’ve fallen for gold Our angels are bought and then sold for their youth Ticking away like the time does... Until it stops She wants love To cover up Blame it on another one You take the lie A twisted lie You fold like a foil In yeah You suck the love outta my anger with your SMILE And use it on another fool... Here we’ve fallen for gold Angels are bought and then sold for their youth Ticking away like the time does... Love Love Love

Now you’re taking it all away With your wrecking ball n’ chain Forgiveness for sale When you rise I fall Now you’re taking it all away We rise and fall Forgive my call It’s way too long Now you’re taking it all away With you’re wrecking ball n’ chain Forgiveness for sale When you rise I fall Now you’re taking it all away We rise and fall Forgive my call A raven’s song Ooh... This baggage hand-cuffed to our wrist We drag it where we go It’s my ball and chain Break your ball and change And light conquers all... Who do you thank at the end of days? Swingin’ wrecking ball and chain System for sale Aahh... Don’t want any fame We play harder than the rest So sick of the game and playing so close to my chest In debt to your world Your papers are better than him Don’t study your bible no It’s plain empathy It’s plain empathy Any fool can see That it’s bringing you down Now you’re taking it all away With your wrecking ball and chain around the neck of empathy Any fool can sing A raven’s song A raven’s song This baggage hand-cuffed to our wrist We drag it where we go It’s my ball and chain Break your ball and change This baggage hand-cuffed to our wrist We drag it where we go It’s my ball and chain Break your ball and change It’s a ball and chain kind of world after all And light conquers all Light Conquers All Light Conquers All Light Conquers All
